"Unprecedented demand for space" is how Exhibition Secretary, Ian Millward, describes the run up to this year's flagship event in the Forestry, Woodland and Arboricultural calendar.

Over 260 exhibitors and 20 000 visitors are expected to attend APF 2008, making it the largest such event ever held in the UK.  Over 5000m, 3 miles, of working machinery frontage has been booked and the expanded static display area sold out long ago.  The Exhibitor list reads likes a Who's Who's of companies in the industry, with every main player exhibiting.  "We are especially pleased at the number of new companies exhibiting this year, attracted by our reputation as the place to sell machinery" Ian said. " The list of events, competitions and seminars has increased and we are extremely grateful for all the support of our sponsors Stihl, Husqvarna, Echo, UPM Tilhill, Euroforest, Buxtons and Komatsu to enable us to stage them all.  We are looking forward to a great show and hope all our visitors have a good time and manage to secure a great bargain
"

The range of events has expanded and details of all events can be found in the visitor information section.  These include the European Lumberjack Sports Championships, the European Poleclimbing championships, the Echo Chainsaw Carving competition, the UK Forwarder Driving Championshipsthe UK Fencing Championships, the World log to leg pole lathe turning championships and an extensive display of Woodland Crafts from charcoal burning to dug out canoes, clog making to willow weaving.

The APF Exhibition is the largest exhibition and display of forestry, woodland, arboriculture, utilities and estate management machinery, equipment, supplies and services in the UK.   The event has something of interest for both the trade and the general public.  There is wide variety of arena events, competitions and displays, many of which you will not see anywhere else and it is a fantastic opportunity to compare rival machines in a realistic working environment and learn what goes on in the UK's woodlands.

APF 2006 was hailed as a great success and was the biggest APF Demo to date.  230 Exhibitors and over 14000 visitors enjoyed 1.5 miles of working demonstrations and equipment and some fantastic competitions.
