The UK Forwarder driving competition, sponsored by Komatsu and organised by Forestry Operator Training Services will take please during all three days of the Exhibition. It takes place at point 2250 on the DEMO circuit.

There will be daily prizes as well as an overall winner and UK champion. Entry is free. You may be able to enter on the day subject to space or to guarantee your entry please fill in the form and send it back to FOTC  John Graves FOTC, Ae Village, Dumfries, DG1 1QB  U.K. ,  indicating your preferred day of competition

RULES
APF 2008 UK Forwarder Driving Competition

COMPETITION 1
15 MINUTE MAXIMUM ALLOWED. COMPETITION WILL BE STOPPED AFTER THIS TIME

DRIVING
Seat belt to be worn
Forwarder to be driven around course NOT contacting/striking any part of barriers, posts, markers etc. Loader to be parked when moving.

LOADING / OFFLOADING
At each pick up point 5 logs, to be lifted individually, no part of the forwarder apart from headboard or inside of pins to be struck with either loader or log(s)

Offloading will be to segregate the 10 logs into 2 piles, short & long, on either side of machine.
Butt of each log must be placed on marker.
Logs can be taken off individually or several at a time.

AT ANY TIME JUDGES CAN STOP PROCEEDINGS IF OPERATOR OR MACHINE IS IN CONFLICT

PENALTIES

OPERATOR NOT WEARING SEAT BELT  1 POINT
EACH BARRIER, POST OR MARKER HIT  1 POINT
EACH LOG NOT LIFTED INDIVIDUALLY  2 POINTS
EACH TIME FORWARDER IS STRUCK BY
LOG       1 POINT
EACH LOG NOT PLACED ON MARKER  1 POINT

POINTS SCORING.

EACH POINT = 60 SECONDS ADDED TO FINAL TIME

COMPETITION 2
LOG GRADING
10 Logs to be graded for Length and Top Diameter, each log is numbered.
This will be carried out from cab of Valmet 941

Time Limit - 5 minutes
THE ABSOLUTE TIME LIMIT IS 15 MINUTES (EXCLUDING PENALTY TIME ADDED AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE RUN)
The winner will be the operator with the lowest time AND the least number of penalties added together.
JUDGES DECISION IS FINAL!

If no FMOCS then it will be judges' decision as to suitability of competitor
